 Approaching the different landmarks throughout the length and breadth of Catalonia, we will be led into one name: Josep Puig I Cadafalch (Mataró 1867 – Barcelona 1956); architect and art historian who developed an intense cultural and political activity in here. We’re dealing with such an important legate in our city and country, that it is difficult not to find references of his production - that furthermore have shaped our architectural landscape -. One of his most directly related influences was the American architect Louis Henry Sullivan, founder of the School of Chicago.

 La importancia d’aquesta experiència és òbvia, estem parlant de l’arquitecte de fi del segle XIX més gran que ha conegut el nostre país, parlant purament de l’estil modernista. Lluís Domènech i Montaner, (Barcelona 1850 – Barcelona 1923) fou un polític i Catedràtic d’Arquitectura de notable influència en les obres de l’època. Entre els seus nombrosos projectes, dos son protegits per l’Unesco com a Patrimoni de la Humanitat des del 1997: el Palau de la Música Catalana i el Hospital de la Santa Creu i de Sant Pau. |

El que pretenem ensenyar és la seva obra menys coneguda, que fa palesa de les seves primeres influències: l’estil Mudèjar i els pre-rafaelites. I per aquells menys assabentats sobre el Geni, us posarem al dia. |

 The point isn’t any longer studying history, trends and visiting collections in famous museums nowadays, remaining passive to understand the artistic fact.. We have to participate ourselves in the approach process and the execution, to get into this marvellous evolution.. The work appears slowly.. We feel so concerned, full of passion, we want to improve it, to show it around, no! Not yet.. It still needs a retouching. This can enrich our life.

 Why should we go for a visit to a Museum of a big town because there’s simply ‘nothing else to see’? Isn’t it true enough that the art is a reflection of the historical period? Well then, if that’s true, why do we assume so many things on the newspapers or on the media that we do not comprehend?
