Salvador Dalí's Empordà Triangle |
Thematic Routes |
The illustrious son of Figueres in North Catalonia put this county on the map in terms of surrealist art of the 20th Century. The theatre-museum with its crystal dome is an important landmark, and according to Dalí himself is “the largest surrealist composition in the world”. This accurately defines his spirit. The year 2004 was the one hundredth anniversary of his birth, and therefore it has been the perfect way to explore the triangle that connects Figueres, The Gala-Dalí Castle in Púbol and his house in Port Lligat, near Cadaqués.
It is also a great opportunity to taste in one of the many traditional Empordà restaurants its good cuisine. The breathtaking landscape of the Empordà is an omnipresent backdrop to his works. An enlightening experience. |
