High-Speed Train to Paris: the first earth connection on high-speed mode seems to reach the Catalan capital city at last! At the end of December 2010, the connection for passengers from Figueres (on medium-speed), as well as cargo transportation via standard European gauge are secured, but for a trip time below 4 hours from Sants-Estació to Gare de Lyon we’ll still have to wait a couple of years more. New Airport in Lleida and Congress Centre: The new airport of Alguaire is already running since January, the 17th 2010 (1st one managed by the Autonomous Government of Catalonia) and connecting now Palma de Mallorca & Paris, soon Frankfurt & Milano.

The new Congress and Theatre Palace “La Llotja” opened January 20th, was designed by Dutch architect Francine Houben.
