Aplec del Cargol (Snail gathering): For 31 years, the people from Lleida have been gathering around one of the most appreciated specialties: the snails. Last year, nearly 250.000 followers from all over Catalonia (and foreign countries) attended this show, that is able to express enthusiasm under various forms (contests, music, jokes, art) aiming to render homage to this gentle and kind animal in this land of orchards and fruit trees. More than 12 tones of snails are prepared for the pleasure of the attendees, mostly “a la llauna” with the tasty allioli sauce. 3 days to spend, delighted by this typical Catalan delicacy, where many activities are opened to the general public for free.
