Description

Several magnificent buildings, installed for the first Universal Exhibition of Barcelona in 1888, have housed for quite a few years the Museums of Zoology and Geology, flanking the beautiful park of the Ciutadella as well as the Umbracle & Hivernacle do embellish this gardens. A new municipal initiative pretends to gather these two scientific collections with the Botanical Garden, located in Montjuïch, in a process that will last till February next 2011. Until that deadline, we should be able to enjoy part of this legacy at the Blue Space in the Forum area, with the permanent exhibition “Planet Life”, the temporarily ones and the educational activities and lectures. A new museum concept is the motto, facing the environmental challenges of today.
