150 years ago, an engineer from Figueres, Narcís Monturiol i Estarriol, achieved to construct a submarine that could perform a long immersion in the Barcelona harbor waters. For this reason, at the Museu de l'Empordà i Figueres, but also at the Museu Marítim of Barcelona (between November the 24th and May the 30th) an exhibition constitutes the best tribute one could pay to this adventurous and brilliant character of our technological history. And it also boosts a scientific enterprise: the construction of the IctineoIII, a new submarine for the exploration of the bottom of the sea. The former advocate and printer would be proud of it, in spite of his tireless efforts to promote the prototype I & II, he died ruined. We haven't forgotten your legacy, Mr. Monturiol!
